Welcome to my Software testing and QA blog. I'm a tester by profession and have been for more than 11 years. Testing is more than a profession for me now. It's more of a passion for me. I have done my Bachelors of Engineering in Production Engineering. I started out by testing software for Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) and in the course of my testing career, graduated to testing for IT service companies.
Testing is not just confined to the Software industry only. If you notice, all our facets of life are influenced by testing. When we cook a dish, we automatically taste a bit of it to make sure that all ingredients are in correct proportion (no excess salt, sugar etc.). Want to buy a new camera? Always insist on a product demo before committing for purchase. Like a new car. 'Stretch her legs'. Take a test drive and give the old wheels a spin. That's testing for you. Testing and Quality Assurance (QA) have been an integral part and parcel of our lives, even if we are not aware of the same.
In today's competitive and continuously evolving IT industry, the importance of successful defect free software need not be over-emphasized. I am not going to indulge in a cliched diatribe of why software testing has gained importance nowadays. It's self evident in today's atmosphere.
As Software testers, we have a very important and crucial responsibility to play in the overall quality of the software. Hence, it is important that we realize it and follow our profession with pride and sincerity. After all, the ultimate success of the project hinges on product quality.
